honoring the Electric Auto 1917, two 17-cent same stamps affixed, postmarked
Greenfield Village, MI, June 25, 1981, FIRST DAY OF
ISSUE. Colorano "Silk" Cachet depicting Transportation at left. Foyt
won the Indianapolis 500 race a record-setting four times and had a
record total of 67 Indy car victories, 15 more than runner-up Mario
Andretti. The inaugural inductee into the Motorsports Hall of Fame in
1989, he retired from driving Indy-style cars in 1993 to concentrate his
efforts on team ownership. Fine condition.
