ink, 42 pages, 6x9. EMLYN WILLIAMS (1905-1987) was a distinguished
Welsh playwright (Night Must Fall, 1936; The Corn is Green,
1942), screenwriter (The Man Who Knew Too Much, 1934) and film
and stage actor (who won a Tony for A Boy Growing Up, 1958). In
addition to plays, he penned a novel, two autobiographies and a controversial
true crime study, Beyond Belief (1967). English stage actor
GEORGE ROSE (1926-1988), who had first stepped onto a Broadway stage in
1946 (King Henry IV) won a Drama Desk Award for My Fat Friend
(1974), and another for The Kingfisher. He won a Tony for a 1976 revival
of My Fair Lady (in the role of Alfred Doolittle), and both a Tony and a
Drama Desk for his final appearance there: The Mystery of Edwin Drood
(1986). Among his other critically acclaimed performances were Coco
(1970), She Loves Me (1977) and The Pirates of Penzance (1981).
