A PERFECT MURDER MOVIE CAST: MICHAEL DOUGLAS, GWYNETH PALTROW and VIGGO MORTENSEN
Signed movie still of the three stars in an intense conversation
Photograph signed: "Viggo Mortensen", "Gwyneth/Paltrow", "Michael/Douglas". A Perfect Murder (1998) is inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's 1954 classic, Dial M for Murder, but with some plot and character changes. Douglas plays a wealthy Wall Street hedge fund manager in financial trouble and needing the inheritance of his young wife (Paltrow). He hires her lover (Mortensen) to murder her, and many plot twists ensue. Color 10x8. MICHAEL DOUGLAS, the son of actors Kirk Douglas and Diana Dill, had a starring TV role on The Streets of San Francisco (1972-1976), partnering with Karl Malden, who became his lifelong friend and mentor. In 1975, Douglas won an Oscar as producer of One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. He would score another Oscar as Best Actor twelve years later for Wall Street. He produced and starred in Romancing the Stone in 1984 and in its sequel, Jewel of the Nile the following year. Among Douglas' other noted films are Fatal Attraction, Falling Down, The American President and Wonder Boys. He has been married since 2000 to actress Catherine Zeta-Jones; they have two children, and co-hosted the Nobel Peace Prize concert in 2000. Actress GWYNETH, the daughter of actress Blythe Danner and the late film director, Bruce Paltrow, made her feature film debut in Spielberg's Hook (1991). But it was her appearance in the mini-series, Cruel Doubt, that sparked a prolific career. Paltrow won praise and a Best Actress Academy Award for her nuanced performance in Shakespeare in Love (1998). She reached stardom with fully realized turns in such films as Sliding Doors (1998), Emma (1996), The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999), The Royal Tennenbaums (2001), Proof (2005) and the Iron Man films (2008, 2010). Paltrow has been married to English rocker Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, since December 2003. Danish-American actor and writer VIGGO MORTENSEN made his film debut in Witness (1985) and played supporting roles for over a decade before reaching stardom. His breakthrough role was Aragorn in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001-2003), followed quickly by starring parts in films like Hidalgo (2004), A History of Violence (2005), Eastern Promises (2007) and The Road (2009). Although he has only one Oscar nomination to date (for Best Actor in Eastern Promises) he has earned many awards and nominations from the Screen Actors Guild, the Broadcast Film Critics Association, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association ("Golden Globe"), and many regional groups. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso. Fine condition.
