The Texas politician who interrupted his college education to enlist in the
military during WWII signed this pamphlet from his re-election campaign
Pamphlet Signed: "A. R. Schwartz July 14, 1972". 4x9 tri-fold re-election
campaign pamphlet. Features two b/w photographs of him in the Texas
Legislature building and him and his family. Aaron R. Schwartz (b. 1926 in
Galveston, Texas) is a Texas politician who was active in his state's
legislature for decades. Before he was elected to any office, Schwartz earned his
law degree and served in the military during WWII.In 1955, he won a seat in the
Texas House of Representatives. Five years later, he moved on to the Texas
Senate to represent District 17. He remained in this seat until 1981.
Although he was voted out of office, Schwartz continued to stay involved in
Texas politics towards the end of his life. Markings in unknown hand in pen on
verso along margin. Otherwise, fine condition.
