AARON SPELLING. Photograph inscribed and signed: "With best wishes/to Jan Thompson/Aaron Spelling". Color, 10x8 overall, image 9x7 (one surface). Still from the 1960 film, One Foot in Hell, which starred Alan Ladd, Don Murray and Dan O'Herlihy. Spelling wrote the screenplay, which was based on his story. Captioned at lower margin. In 1960, Spelling also produced and wrote the screenplay for Guns of the Timberland, and he wrote an episode for the TV series, Dante. Aaron Spelling (1923-2006), who began his career as a writer, became one of the top producers in television history. In the 1970s, he had so many shows on the air that ABC was jokingly called "Aaron's Broadcasting Company". Spelling, who directed such TV shows as Burke's Law, Daniel Boone, The Mod Squad, The Rookies, Starsky and Hutch, Charlie's Angels, Vega$, Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, Hart to Hart, Dynasty (and its spin-off, The Colbys), T.J. Hooker, Hotel, Melrose Place, Beverly Hills 90210, 7th Heaven, Sunset Beach, Pacific Palisades and Summerland, also produced a long list of TV movies and several feature films. He is the father of actress Tori Spelling and actor Randy Spelling. Adequate contrast. Lightly creased at blank margins and corners. Surface creased.
