Contract signed: "Aaron Spelling", 9 pages, 8½x11. Beverly Hills, California, 1959 December 2. Agreement between Aaron Spelling and Four Star Television to write and deliver a complete teleplay for a television pilot episode titled "The House of Four Keys". The term of employment commencing on December 2, 1959 with the first draft of the teleplay delivered by December 16, 1959, for the sum of $2,500, and 5% of the net profits if a television series based on the teleplay is produced. Aaron Spelling (1923-2006), who began his career as a writer, became one of the top producers in television history. In the 1970s, he had so many shows on the air that ABC was jokingly called "Aaron's Broadcasting Company". Spelling, who directed such TV shows as Burke's Law, Daniel Boone, The Mod Squad, The Rookies, Starsky and Hutch, Charlie's Angels, Vega$, Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, Hart to Hart, Dynasty (and its spin-off, The Colbys), T.J. Hooker, Hotel, Melrose Place, Beverly Hills 90210, 7th Heaven, Sunset Beach, Pacific Palisades and Summerland, also produced a long list of TV movies and several feature films.
