Typed Letter Signed: "Lou Costello", 1p, 8½x11. No place, 1952 December 15. To NBC, RCA Building, Radio City, New York. In part: "In order to induce you to enter into the agreements hereinafter mentioned with Bud Abbott and me and with TCA, a California corporation and with Bankers Trust Company, a New York corporation, I hereby represent and warrant that nothing in any of Bud Abbott's or my motion picture agreements...will prevent your use of Bud Abbott and me on the live television shows referred to in and covered by the agreement, dated March 27, 1951...." Bud Abbott and Lou Costello starred on The Abbott & Costello Show aired on radio on ABC from 1941-1946 and on NBC from 1946-1949. This letter refers to Abbott and Costello appearing on NBC's hour-long live variety show, The Colgate Comedy Hour. They were guest hosts seven times between 1951-1954 including the December 23, 1951 Christmas Special, frequently doing their routines such as "Who's on First?" (January 7, 1951) and "Niagara Falls" (January 13, 1952). Lightly creased. File and staple holes. File note upper left (unknown hand). Overall, fine condition.
