Christmas/holiday card signed: "Abby" and co-signed: "John," 5½x4¼. No place, 1982. Color photo of the Lewis and Seymour together on their beach included. To John Willis, chief editor of Theatre World, New York City. In full: "We have so many requests that we repeat the card! Again we thank you for the wonderful work you do and the way you do it. Happy/1982," Facsimile script wishing "Season's Greetings from our Beach and us." Former high school teacher Abby Lewis (1910-1997) got her acting start in summer stock and worked her way up to her Broadway debut in Hamlet (1934-1935). She made the first of many guest star appearances on TV in 1952. In all, Lewis had seven Broadway credits between 1934 and 1975 and appeared in over 20 movies and TV shows between 1952 and 1997. John Davenport Seymour's (1897-1986), the husband of Abby Lewis, career spanned over radio, theatre and film. Landing his first acting role in 1919 in the comedy A Young Man's Fancy, Seymour performed in 70 plays and 25 movies and television shows, including Naked City (1961-1963), The Defenders (1961-1965), Light up the Sky (1948-49), and recurring roles on The Honeymooners (1955-56). Fine condition.
