playwright Abe Burrows in New York City in 1949. He wrote the musicals Guys
and Dolls and How to Succeed in Business Without Really
Trying.

ink. Unknown signatures on front and verso in black, blue and green ink. Lead
pencil notations in unknown hand. 1 page, 9½x5¾. American playwright Burrows
(1910-1985) wrote and often directed classic American musical comedies. He
won a Pulitzer Prize and Tony Awards for writing and directing in 1962 for
How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying (1961-1965); the
play also earned a Tony for Best Musical. His first Broadway musical
Guys and Dolls (1950-1953) won a Tony Award for Best Musical
and, as of this biography, has been revived five times on the Great White
Way. Lightly toned. Show-through touches signatures. Neatly torn from binding at
right edge. Irregular bottom edge. Light nicks in top edge. Otherwise in fine
