ABE VIGODA
The actor who had a key supporting role in The Godfather and its sequel signed this black and white headshot photograph
Photograph Signed: "Abe Vigoda". B/w, 8x10. Character actor Abe Vigoda (1921-2016), who has proven to be equally adept in both dramatic and comedic roles, is best known for playing Sergeant Phil Fish on Barney Miller (1974-1982) and short-lived spinoff series Fish (1977-1978). Vigoda, who made his first television appearance on Suspense in 1949, has since appeared as a guest star on a long list of TV series, from Mannix (in 1973) to Howard Stern (in 2005). He has also made a number of feature films, most notably appearing as Sal Tessio in The Godfather (1972) and The Godfather: Part II (1974). Vigoda reprised this role for a trilogy of Godfather video games released in 2006 and 2007. Still active as an actor into his nineties, Vigoda appeared in Sweet Destiny (2014) and an episode of High School USA! (in 2013). Until 1987, Vigoda could be seen intermittently on a Broadway stage. His last theatrical performance on one of those New York City stages was in a revival of Arsenic and Old Lace (1986-1987). For his role as Phil Fish in Barney Miller, Vigoda was nominated for three straight Primetime Emmys from 1976 to 1978. Minor surface creases (not evident head on). Otherwise, fine condition.
