Ambitious newspaper reporter Megan (SALLY FIELD) is sent to interview Gallagher (PAUL NEWMAN), the reclusive son of a deceased mobster. Misled by a federal investigator, Megan writes an article suggesting Gallagher is involved in the murder of a longshoreman's union official. NEWMAN (1925-2008, born in Shaker Heights, Ohio) was nominated for the 1981 Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance. Nominated eight times, Newman won the Oscar in 1986 for Best Actor (The Color of Money). FIELD, born in Pasadena, California in 1946, was nominated twice for the Academy Award for Best Actress and won both times: Norma Rae (1979) and Places in the Heart (1984). Slightly creased at blank margins and corners, light black mark at upper right margin. Light transference of ink from another signed photograph and ink number (unknown hand) on verso (no show through). Fine condition.
