Inscribed printed photograph signed: "To Joseph,/Warmest
regards,/Adam Wade", in blue ink, B/w 8x10. Adam Wade (b. 1935) is an
American musician, actor, and television personality. Wade was a lab
assistant to Dr. Jonas Salk on the polio research team when he decided to
pursue a career in music, releasing his hit cover "Ruby" in 1960. Popular
for a vocal style similar to Johnny Mathis, Wade had a number of hits in the
1960's, including "Take Good Care of Her", "As If I Didn't Know", and "The
Writing on the Wall". After his success in music, Wade was chosen to host
the 1975 game show Musical Chairs, becoming the first African
American game host. This was followed by acting roles in several Blaxploitation
films and the television series The Super Globetrotters (1979).
Most recently, Wade appeared in the 2014 film Drug Affected.
