ADAM WEST
The actor signs a newspaper clipping relating to his role in a 1972 play.
Newspaper photograph inscribed and signed: "All good wishes to George!/Adam West". B/w,
3¾x5 overall, image 1½x4 (one surface). Article from the Friday, March 3, 1972 issue of the
"Los Angeles Herald Examiner". Captioned: "Adam West, star of the long-running Batman
television series, plays a naval officer in the production of Ben Johnson's comedy 'Volpone,'
opening Thursday at the Mark Taper Forum of the Music Center." In 1972, West appeared
in one feature film, Curse of the Moon Child, and one made-for-TV movie, The Eyes of
Charles Sand. He also made guest starring appearances on three TV series: Alias Smith
and Jones, This is the Life and Mannix. Adam West (1928-2017) is most famous for his
role as the titular superhero in the original Batman (1966-1968). Although the show ran
for only 3 seasons, its unique style and comedic tone have made it a fan favorite in a
long-running franchise. West attempted to distance himself from the role after the series was
cancelled in 1968, but he eventually embraced his typecast role and has voiced the main
character and many others in a ton of animated shows and films, including The New
Adventures of Batman (1977) and The Batman (2004-2006). He enjoyed a resurgence in
popularity when he was cast as the Mayor of Quahog in the adult animated series Family
Guy. Irregularly cut. Lightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
