ARLEIGH BURKE. Photograph inscribed and signed: "To: Steve Juscik/with best wishes/Arleigh Burke". B/w, 8x10. Stamped on verso, in part: "Official U.S. Navy Photo" and "1/10/59". Arleigh Burke (1901-1996) led the "Little Beavers" destroyer squadron in World War II, fighting 22 combat engagements in four months in the Pacific. The squadron's high-speed dashes earned him the nickname "31 Knot Burke". He served as Chief of Naval Operations from 1955-1961, longer than any predecessor. Light surface scuffs (not evident head on). Fine condition.
