Peary's new ship, the Roosevelt, was brought from New York to Nova Scotia, where Bartlett took the helm. They headed north and came within three degrees of the North Pole. Peary had been raised in Portland, Maine, across the Gulf of Maine from Nova Scotia. Lightly creased. Folds, vertical fold touches the "r" in Peary. Ink has lightly spread on signature, ink transfer at blank areas. Nicked at upper left blank edge, ¼-inch tear at lower right blank margin (all paper intact). Overall, fine condition.
