Overall, fine condition with working clasp. On December 16, 1938, ADOLF HITLER instituted a new award to honor German Nazi motherhood, especially the large family. The Cross of Honor of the German Mother (Ehrenkreuz der deutschen Mutter) was created in three classes: bronze (4-5 children), silver (6-7 children) and gold (8 or more children). There were cash incentives for each child born, even for illegitimate children who became wards of the state. Of the three crosses, only the gold cross was presented in the hard presentation case. Awards were presented on "Mothering Sunday" (Mothers Day). The first awards were presented on the May 21, 1939, and the last were presented in 1944. OTTO MEISSNER was head of Hitler's Chancellery and Minister of State. Two items.
