ADRIAN BOOTH and DAVID BRIAN
The married couple sign their names in blue and black ink
Signatures: "Adrian Booth Brian" and "David Brian". 5x3 card. After small roles in films like
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington(1939), ADRIAN BOOTH (1917-2017) became a star in
"B" action movies for Columbia and then Republic films. Her prominent film roles began
with Valley of the Zombies(1946) and concluded with The Sea Hornet (1951). Before
becoming Adrian Booth in 1946, she went by the names of Virginia "Ginger" Pound (vocalist
for Roger Pryor's band) and Lorna Gray. She was married to actor David Brian until his death
in 1993. DAVID BRIAN (1914-1993) got started as a musical comedian, but an uncredited
role in 1935's G-Men launched him on a long movie and TV career, with 75 credits until the
end of his career in 1975. A leading man who starred opposite such stars as Joan Crawford
and Bette Davis, his best performance is probably as a lawyer defending a black boy accused
of murder in Intruder in the Dust (1949). Star Trek fans may recognize Brian as the
misguided John Gill, who introduced Nazism to the primitive planet of Acos, in the 1968
episode Patterns of Force. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso. Fine condition.
