PETER GRAVES (1926-2010), born Peter Aurness, appeared in 130 movies, TV shows and video games between 1951 and 2010, but is probably best known as James Phelps, the leader of an elite covert operations unit on the weekly TV adventure series Mission: Impossible (1967-1973). The role earned him a Golden Globe in 1971 and an Emmy Award nomination. (He reprised Phelps in a revamp of the series, which lasted from 1988 to 1990) Modern audiences may also know him as a presenter on the long-running documentary seriesBiography (1994-2006). Graves often played straight-arrow, authoritative figures, which the team of Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker brilliantly lampooned withCaptain Clarence "Joey, do you like movies about gladiators?" Oveur in Airplane! (1980) and its sequel Airplane II: The Sequel (1982). Graves paid his dues in a long string of B movies before Mission: Impossible. One of his more memorable roles from this period was a Nazi spy in the war movie classic Stalag 17 (1953). But Mystery Science Theatre 3000 fans may also recognize Graves from no less than five movies savaged by Joel, Mike and the 'bots: It Conquered the World (1956), Beginning of the End (1957),Attack of the Eye Creatures (1965), SST: Death Flight (1977) and Parts: The Clonus Horror (1979). He was the younger brother of actor James Arness. JULIE HAGERTY, born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1955, is an American actress. Haggerty has appeared in dozens of TV shows and films as well as a few Broadway plays. She will forever be identified with her role as the flight stewardess Elaine in Airplane! (1980) and its sequel Airplane II: The Sequel (1982). She began acting with her brother's theater company in 1972 and made her unofficial film debut All That Jazz (1979), although all her parts wound up on the cutting room floor. More recent film credits include She's the Man (2006) and What About Bob? (1991). Film and television actor CHAD EVERETT (1937-2012), born Raymond Lee Cramton, is best remembered for portraying Dr. Joe Gannon in the long running TV drama, Medical Center(1969-1976), for which he was nominated for two Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes. He has starred in several other series, from The Dakotas(1963) to McKenna (1994-1995) and made dozens of TV guest appearances, and Everett has been seen in over thirty feature films, including Claudelle Inglish (1961, his debut), The Chapman Report (1962), Johnny Tiger (1966),The Impossible Years (1968), Airplane II: The Sequel (1982), Psycho (1988), Mulholland Dr. (2001), A View From the Top (2003) and Unspoken (2006, narrator).
