AL JENNINGS
Al Jennings sends a typed letter asking for a pair of shoes he
forgot.
Typed Letter Signed: "Al Jennings" in pencil, 1p, 8½x11.
Colorado, 1939 June 26. To Mr. L.M. Parker, Klamath River
P.O., California. In full: "I wish you would rummage through your car
and see if I didn't leave a pair of perfectly good shoes which I failed to
find on my return from our jaunt. If you find the shoes kindly mail them to
me as I haven't another pair and I havent gone barefoot for a long while.
I have nothing to report as yet but everything has been complied with as per our
conversation. Kindly remember me to your wife and the silencer and the purp.
Also the ducks etc." Al Jennings was a gunslinging outlaw who was
a convicted cattle rustler and train robber. He banked on his notoriety
to appear in a handful of Hollywood silent films, such as 1924's The
Sea Hawk and Fighting Fury. Jennings was 97 when he died in 1961.
Browned. Folds, 1 at the first "n" in signature. Lightly creased. Overall, fine
condition.
