Al Bumbry (b.1947) played in the majors for the Baltimore Orioles
and San Diego Padres between 1972 and 1985. An outfielder from Virginia
State, Bumbry served in Vietnam before his MLB debut and earned a Bronze Star.
Once debuting with the Orioles in 1972, he played for Baltimore for 13 out of
his 14 seasons in the majors, winning the 1973 American League Rookie
of the Year Award. He appeared in two World Series Championships and
was a 1980 All Star. Bumbry finished his career a .281 batter with 1,422 hits
and 402 RBIs. Lightly worn at edges. Fine condition.
