Longtime actor Al Checco (b. 1925) is perhaps best remembered as Don
Knotts' comedy partner who appeared a few times on The Andy Griffith
Show as well as in three of Knotts' films The Ghost and Mr.
Chicken (1966), The Reluctant Astronaut (1967), and
How to Frame a Figg (1971). However, Checco had appeared in
numerous television series including Mister Ed (1961-1963),
Perry Mason (1965), and Growing Pains (1991) as well
as films such as The Party (1968), Bullitt (1968)
and Helter Skelter (1976). He has also worked and performed on
Broadway in productions such as Lend an Ear (1948), Carnival
in Flanders (1953) and most recently Crazy For You (1992).
