honoring Trygve Lie, .90 Swiss franc U.N. stamp affixed, postmarked Geneva,
Switzerland, January 30, 1987, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. The World Federation

Lie. Al Hirschfeld (1903-2003) was a renowned cartoonist, author and
theatrical caricaturist with "The New York Times" from 1929. From 1945 on,
Hirschfeld began incorporating the name of his daughter, Nina, in his drawings.
The addition became so popular with his audience that after 1956 he began adding

work. Hirschfeld died on January 20, 2003 at the age of 99. Fine
