AL UNSER & RICK MEARS
Two Indy 500 winners sign a First Day Cover honoring Marmon Wasp.
First Day Cover signed: "Al Unser" and "Rick/Mears/thanks", 6½x3¾. First Day Cover honoring Marmon Wasp. Postmarked Indianapolis, Indiana, September 25, 1987, a 5-cent and 17.5-cent stamp affixed, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. Race car driver AL UNSER was three-time USAC-CART national champion (1970, 1983, and 1985) and four-time winner of the Indy 500 (1970-71, 1978, 1987, one time more than brother Bobby). He was recognized in 1990 as the Associated Press "Driver of the Decade" for his 20 wins in the 1980's. In 1992, Mears was named one of ten "Champions for Life" by the Driver of The Year Award's panel - the youngest driver of this prestigious group. Fine condition.
