Meal ticket signed: "A.J. Pakula", 3½x5½. Meal ticket from Paramount Continental Café, dated in unknown hand December 11, 1951. Alan J. Pakula (1928-1998, born in the Bronx, New York) was an American film producer, writer and screenwriter. He to produced Fear Strikes Out (1957), To Kill a Mockingbird (1962), Love With the Proper Stranger (1963), and Up the Down Staircase (1967),among others, produce and direct The Sterile Cuckoo (1969) and Klute (1971), and direct All the President's Men (1976) and Comes a Horseman (1978). Pakula earned Oscar nominations for three movies: To Kill a Mockingbird (Best Picture), All the President's Men (1976, Best Director) and Sophie's Choice (1982; Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium). He also directed 8 different actors in Oscar-nominated roles, three of whom (Jane Fonda, Jason Robards and Meryl Streep) went on to win. Torn at top edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
