ALAN LADD, STEWART GRANGER and SID FIELD
Alan Ladd, Stewart Granger, and Sid Field sign black and white publicity photograph of them standing and talking.
Photograph signed: "Alan/Ladd", "Stewart Granger" and "Sincerely/Sid Field". B/w, 10x8. With his icy good looks and a resonant voice, ALAN LADD (1913-1964) starred in entertaining adventures featuring him bare-chested and in fistfights. In 1942, he landed a major role in This Gun for Hire opposite Veronica Lake. Ladd quickly became a major star, and was teamed with Lake in other films -- all hits. On the Top Ten box-office attractions list in 1947, 1953 and 1954, Ladd continued to star in films throughout the 1950s. British actor STEWART GRANGER (1913-1993), who was born James Stewart but changed his name to avoid confusion with the Hollywood actor of the same name, was a top romantic leading man in Britain (along with James Mason) before coming to Hollywood, where he was usually cast as a rugged "he-man". Granger, who appeared in Cukor's The Prisoner of Zenda (1952), starred in a number of other feature films, including Caesar and Cleopatra (1946), King Solomon's Mines (1950), Beau Brummel (1954), North to Alaska (1960) and Sodom and Gomorrah (1962), and in TV movies. He was married to actress Jean Simmons from 1950-1960. British music hall performer SID FIELD (1904-1950) starred in three feature films: That's the Ticket (1940), London Town (1946) and Cardboard Cavalier (1949). Adequate contrast. Surface striations at Field's suit. Fine condition.
