Photograph signed: "Best Wishes/Alan Minter". B/w, 7½x10. British middleweight boxer Alan Minter (b. 1951) won a bronze at the 1972 Olympic Games. Turning pro the same year, he won his first ten fights, the first five by knockout. Having won the European Middleweight crown in 1977, he seized the world title by beating defending champion Vito Antuofermo twice in 1980. He was champ only from March to September, when he lost to Marvin Hagler. He retired from the ring in 1981 with a record of 39-9 (including 23 knockouts), and 1 no-contest. Lightly bowed. Minor surface creases. Edges lightly worn, corners with pin-sized holes. Otherwise, fine condition.
