film. British director, producer, writer and actor Alan William Parker (born in 1944) was a
successful advertising copywriter in London before he moved into features, first as a
screenwriter and then as a director. He directed his first film, Our Cissy, in 1974 and his
breakthrough film, Midnight Express, in 1978. Parker's other films include Bugsy Malone
(1976), Fame (1980), Pink Floyd The Wall (1982), Angel Heart (1987), Evita (1996),
Angela's Ashes (1999) and The Life of David Gale (2003). He has also directed music videos
for Madonna, and Parker has appeared in four of his films (The Commitments, 1991;
Evita; Angela's Ashes; and, The Life of David Gale) and he has been a guest on a number of
TV documentaries and series. Parker, who was knighted in 2002, was a founding member of
the Directors' Guild of Great Britain. Slightly creased at lower left blank corner, staple holes
at upper left corner. Two red pencil check marks at upper portion. Fine condition.
