Shown with his wife Ethel, who died in 2002. Albert Rosellini (b. 1910 and still
living in 2009) was Governor of Washington (1957-1965). As Governor he
promoted reform of juvenile justice and mental health systems, increased aid for
higher education and other progressive causes. The oldest living former US
governor as of 2006, Rosellini pursued business interests and remained
active in Democratic Party politics after leaving office. In 2003, headlines
linked Rosellini with the Seattle "strippergate" scandal, alleged mob
payoffs to members of the City Council. However, the county prosecutor declared
that there was no evidence of criminal wrongdoing by Rosellini. Fine
