AMERICAN AIRLINES: ALBERT V. CASEY. Philatelic Envelope signed: "Albert V Casey", 6½x3½. First Day Cover honoring 50 years of commercial aviation, 13-cent stamp affixed, postmarked Chicago, IL, March 19, 1976, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. Albert V. Casey was President and CEO of AMR Corp./American Airlines from 1974-1980 and Chairman of the Board from 1974-1985. Casey has also been President of The Times Mirror Company (1963-1974), Chairman and CEO of First Republic Bank Corporation (1988-1989) and President and CEO of the Resolution Trust Corporation (1991-1993). On August 6, 2003, Casey, who has served on more than 20 Boards of Directors and was Postmaster General in 1986, was confirmed as a Governor on the U.S. Postal Service's Board of Governors. Ink note (unknown hand, no show through) on verso. Fine condition.
