ALCOA PREMIERE TV CAST: PATRICK O'NEAL and SALOME JENS
The actors embrace one another in 7x9 still from the Alcoa Premiere episode "The Dark Labyrinth", sign their names and best wishes
Photograph signed: "Best wishes/ Salome/ Jens" in blue ink and "Patrick/ O'Neal" in black ink. B/w, 7x9. Still from the 1963 episode of Alcoa Premiere titled "The Dark Labyrinth"; the series, hosted by famed dancer and actor Fred Astaire, presented a new drama with each week's episode. PATRICK O'NEAL (1927-1994) could play positive roles, like the well-intended intelligence officer in The Kremlin Letter (1970), or negative ones, like his sycophantic careerist of In Harm's Way (1965) or the chief villain of The Stepford Wives (1975). He co-starred in one TV series, Dick and the Duchess (1957-1958), and made many guest appearances, including numerous SF-type roles (One Step Beyond, The Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, Night Gallery). He starred in the Broadway debut of Night of the Iguana (1961), but lost the movie role to Richard Burton. O'Neal was co-owner of several fashionable New York restaurants. He was married from 1956 until his death to actress Cynthia O'Neal. SALOME JENS (b. 1935) appeared in 11 Broadway plays between 1956 and 1971, culminating in the title role of Mary Stuart in the latter year. In film and TV supporting roles since the late 1950s, she has had recurring roles on the series Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, Falcon Crest, The Adventures of Superboy (as Martha Kent, 1988-1992), Melrose Place and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (as the female Changeling leader). Her most recent film to date is A Place for Heroes, in post-production as of May 2013. Corners rounded. Ink notes on verso in unknown hand. Toned adhesive and mounting residue on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
