Embossed photographer's imprint at lower left corner. Italian tenor Alessandro Zilini (1906-1977) made his debut in Madama Butterfly at the Teatro Dal Verme in 1929. He has been heard on a number of recordings, including Verdi: La Traviata, on which he sang Alfredo, and on Maria Callas' recording of Rossini's Armida (1952). Zilini was married to Italian operatic soprano Mafalda Favero (1903-1981), who was a regular at La Scala and starred at other noted opera houses. Minor surface creases, scratches and smudges (most not evident head on). Paper remnant at upper left corner, light tape stain at upper right corner. Ink notes (unknown hand) on verso.
