Alfred George Deller (1912-1979), also known as the "Godfather of the Countertenor", was an English singer. He was one of the most important influences behind the 20th century resurgence of the countertenor voice in both Renaissance and Baroque music. Known for the distinctive style he adopted in singing lute song, Deller was featured in several BBC broadcasts. His artistic contributions are widely recognized as having helped revive interest in early classical music. In 1962, he also founded the Stour Music Festival, one of the very first early music festivals in the world. Signer on verso merits further research. Otherwise, fine condition.
