Alfred Noyes (1880-1958) wrote novels and short stories, some of which were
made into successful radio plays, but is best remembered for his poetry. His
best known poem is "The Highwayman" (1906). In 1924 he collaborated
with composer Edward Elgar to produce Pageant of Empire for the British
Empire Exhibition of that year. Noyes lived and taught for many years in the
US, and was popular on both sides of the Atlantic. He was honored with a C.B.E.
in 1918. Lightly creased and toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
