ALICE FAYEA letter from Faye to an associate, saying she is currently working at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, and that they should talk on the phone soon Autograph letter signed: "Alice Faye", 2p, 5x8, note card embossed "Alice", folded in half. No place, no date, but with original stamped envelope postmarked Palm Springs, California, 1987 September 8. Begins: "Dear Anne". In full: "I tried hard to answer all those questions for you, but I think if we talked on the phone it would be faster and maybe to the point. I will be in N.J. the 15th of Sept to the 20th at the Hotel Inter Continental - ... - I am working for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. In my fourth year and loving it. Maybe you could contact me there and we could chat. I would love it Thanks again". On verso, Faye has written: "My home number is ... Rancho Mirage". Mid-horizontal fold underlines signature. Fine condition. With original envelope, 5½x4¼. Embossed on back flap: "Thunderbird Country Club/Bar Y/Rancho Mirage, California". Addressed by Faye to: "Anne Edwards, Blandings Way, 240 Indian Trail, New Milford Ct. 06776". Slightly creased. Torn open at back flap. Fine condition. Alice Faye (1915-1998) was a chorus girl who rose to movie stardom in such films as In Old Chicago (1938), Rose of Washington Square (1939) and Tin Pan Alley (1940). She also co-starred with husband Phil Harris in a popular radio comedy series. Semi-retired thereafter, Faye remained popular on TV and in nightclub appearances. Two items.
