Signature: "Alice/Ghostley" in black ink, 5x3 card. Alice Ghostley (1926-2007) is best known for her roles as Esmeralda on Bewitched (1966-1972) and Bernice Clifton on Designing Women (1986-1993), for which she was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 1992. Ghostley, who won a Tony Award in 1965 for The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window and was nominated for a Tony in 1963 for The Beauty Part, made her television debut in 1953 in Freedom Rings, and she would go on to guest star in a long list of TV series, including Car 54, Where Are You?, Get Smart, The Ghost & Mrs. Muir, Hogan's Heroes, Love, American Style, Good Times, Evening Shade (as Irna, 1992-1994) and Passions (as Matilda Matthews, 2000). Ghostley also appeared in made-for-TV movies, and she was seen on the big screen in such feature films as To Kill a Mockingbird (1962), The Flim-Flam Man (1967), The Graduate (1967), With Six You Get Eggroll (1968), Addams Family Reunion (1998) and Mothers and Daughters (2002).
