ALIEN NATION MOVIE CAST
A still from the 1988 film picturing James Caan and Mandy Patinkin in character, signed near their respective images
Photograph signed: "Mandy Patinkin", "Best Wishes/James Caan", B/w 8x10¼. Actor JAMES CAAN (1940-2022) shot to fame thanks to a poignant performance in the 1970 television movie Brian's Song, in which he played the ill-fated Chicago Bears star Brian Piccolo; his turn as the similarly ill-fated Sonny Corleone in Coppola's 1972 masterpiece The Godfather solidified his stardom and earned him an Academy Award nomination. Some of Caan's other films include The Godfather, Part 2 (1974), Funny Lady (1975), Rollerball (1975), Thief (1981), Misery (1990) and Honeymoon in Vegas (1992). In 2003, Caan starred on the NBC television series, Las Vegas(off the air in 2007). MANDY PATINKIN (b. 1952) is a Tony and Emmy-winning American actor of stage and screen. Intense and dynamic Patinkin is probably best known for his role as Inigo Montoya in The Princress Bride (1987) and his tagline, which has entered the popular lexicon: "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." But his acting career began over a decade before The Princess Bride, with appearances in TV commercials and on radio. He debuted on Broadway in Trelawny of the "Wells" in 1975. This was the first of 16 Broaday appearances, mostly in musicals and solo concerts, including two appearances in Sunday in the Park with George (1984-1985, 604 performances and 1994), The Secret Garden (1991-1993, 709 performances) and a Tony-winning performance as Che in Evita (1979-1983, 1,567 performances). Patinkin's movie debut was in 1978's The Big Fix, and he went on to appear in Ragtime (1981), Yentl (1983), Alien Nation (1988) and Dick Tracy (1990). His TV appearances include an Emmy-winning turn as Dr. Jeffrey Geiger on Chicago Hope (1994-2000) as well as performances in Dead Like Me (2003-2004) and Criminal Minds (2005-2007). Stains along right margin. Ink on Caan's signature slightly smeared, but legible. Patinkin's signature in poor contrast, but legible. Corners slightly worn. Fine condition.
