ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN MOVIE CAST: ROBERT REDFORD and DUSTIN HOFFMAN 1976 cover of Time about the movie All the President's Men, published less than a week before its world premiere and signed by stars Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford. All the President's Men (1976) is, as of this bio, the only movie ever to feature these two actors. Magazine Cover signed: "Dustin Hoffman" and "Happiness/Robert Redford". Color, 8x10¾. March 29, 1976 cover of Time. Cover story: "Watergate/ on Film/ Hoffman & Redford in/ 'All the President's Men'." All the President's Men (1976) is a film adaptation of the Watergate scandal. Its world premiere in Washington, D. C. was on April 4, 1976, less than a week after this cover was published. It starred Hoffman as Carl Bernstein and Redford as Bob Woodward, two green Washington Post reporters who investigated the 1972 robbery of the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate in Washington, D. C. and broke the scandal. The movie was released a mere two years after the 1974 resignation of President Richard M. Nixon, who stepped down because of Watergate, and is, as of this biography, the only feature movie featuring these two actors. The rugged, dashingly handsome ROBERT REDFORD (b.1936) was among the biggest movie stars of the 1970s. It was a leading role in the 1963 Broadway production of Barefoot in the Park that launched Redford to prominence and opened the door to Hollywood. Redford has been nominated for one Academy Award for Best Actor for The Sting (1973) and two for Best Director, for Ordinary People (1980) and Quiz Show (1994), winning in 1980. His many other starring roles include Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), All the President's Men (1976), The Natural (1984), Out of Africa (1985) and Spy Game (2001). In addition to his acting and directing work, Redford has also flexed his movie industry muscle as the founder of the Sundance Institute, an organization primarily devoted to promoting American independent filmmaking. An outgrowth of its success was cable's Sundance Channel. Diminutive, wiry and unassuming, DUSTIN HOFFMAN (b.1937) was anything but the usual matinee idol, yet he quickly distinguished himself among the most popular and celebrated screen performers of his generation. He has won two Academy Awards for Best Actor (Kramer vs. Kramer, 1980 and Rain Man, 1989) in addition to earning five Oscar nominations (The Graduate, 1968; Midnight Cowboy, 1970; Lenny, 1975; Tootsie, 1983 and Wag the Dog, 1998). Recently, Hoffman was seen as Ben Stiller's (Greg Focker's) father in Meet the Fockers (2004), the sequel to the highly successful Meet the Parents (2000). Lightly toned and creased. Redford's signature has faded but is legible. Light tears at right and left edges. Paper clip impression at top edge. Address label at bottom left corner. Otherwise, fine condition.
