Playbill for a production of Alone Together at the Music Box (New York), dated October 8, 1984. Alone Together, a play by Lawrence Roman, ran for 97 performances through January 1985. KEVIN McCARTHY (1914-2010) portrayed Biff in the original 1948 production of Death of a Salesman. In 1951, he re-created his role in the film version that launched his movie career. He is most famous as Dr. Miles Bennell in Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956); he made a cameo appearance in the 1978 remake. In addition to his movie career that thrived for four decades, McCarthy scored a personal theatrical triumph in the one-man show Give 'Em Hell, Harry! He starred in the television series The Survivors (1969), Flamingo Road (1981), The Colbys (1983) and Bay City Blues (1984). Actress/singer JANIS PAIGE (born Donna Mae Jaden in 1922) made her feature film debut in Hollywood Canteen (1944). In addition to appearing in a number of feature films, including Of Human Bondage (1946), Silk Stockings (1957), Please Don't Eat the Daisies (1960) and Love at the Top (1986), Paige also enjoyed success on Broadway, appearing in the Tony Award-winning musical, Pajama Game (1954-1955; the film role went to her Warner Bros. rival, Doris Day), and in Remains to Be Seen, Here's Love, Mame and Alone Together. She was married to her third husband, songwriter Ray Gilbert (1912-1976), who won the 1947 Academy Award for his song, "Zip-i-Dee-Doo-Dah", from 1962 until his death, when she was placed in charge of her husband's Ipanema Music Company. Paige has also appeared in a number of made-for-TV movies and guested on a number of TV series, including All in the Family (as a waitress with whom Archie Bunker has a brief affair), and was featured on daytime soaps. ALEXANDRA GERSTEN (b.1959), the niece of theatre impresario Bernard Gerstein, went on to write and star in her own play, My Thing of Love, which ran only briefly on Broadway but won Chicago's Joseph Jefferson Award. She has many Off-Broadway credits as Alexandra Gersten-Vassilaros. DON HOWARD(1952-1999) is credited in two other New York plays, including West Side Waltz on Broadway (1981). He played son Elliot Roosevelt in the TV mini-series Eleanor and Franklin (1977). Howard was also author, composer and lyricist of a musical, "Paul Bunyan". DENNIS DRAKE(1914-2010) was making his only New York stage performance, but was seen in several TV guest spots of the late 1980s, beginning with Remington Steele (1985). Cover lightly creased.
