ALVAN ADAMSThe professional basketball player who won a Gold Medal at the 1973 Summer Olympics signed this index card Signature: “Alvan/ Adams”. 5x3 index card. Alvan Adams (b. 1954) played college basketball at the University of Oklahoma. He was named the Big Eight Player of the Year in 1975; his jersey number (#33) was later retired by the school. After he was drafted 4th overall by the Phoenix Suns in 1975, Adams became a career-long Suns player, earning Rookie of the Year honors that first year. While his jersey number was retired by the team, Adams himself gave Grant Hill permission to use the number that the veteran player was accustomed to. Lightly toned. Note on verso in unknown hand. Pencil head-sized stain in top right corner. Otherwise, fine condition.
