A signature in black ink from the radio personality
Signatures: "Andre Baruch", in black ink, 5½x4½. French-born André Baruch (1908-1991) served in the US Army in World War II, active in the formation of the Armed Forces Radio Service. Baruch and his wife, American singer Bea Wain, were radio co-hosts and disc jockeys, first for many years in New York City and then in Palm Beach, Florida. Baruch was the announcer on many radio programs, including those of Fred Waring and Kate Smith, as well as Your Hit Parade. Although mainly associated with musical programming, Baruch achieved a lifetime dream in the radio/TV broadcast team for the Brooklyn Dodgers (1954-1955). Heavily toned on margins. Adhesive residue in center, shows through on both sides. Ink notes (unknown hand). Tear on bottom left corner. Small tears on right margin. Edges slightly worn and torn. Unknown signature on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
