Partly Printed DS: "André Previn" as Leader, 9p, 8½x11. No place, 1961 January 9, 1p standard contract with 8 pages of riders. Headed: "American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada". Contract between Previn and Roncom Productions, Inc. for the pianist/composer to appear on Perry Como's Kraft Music Hall. Previn was to be paid $5000 plus one round trip air fare from Los Angeles to New York for his appearance, scheduled to be taped on February 3, 1961 and aired on February 8, 1961 from 9:00-10:00 p.m. Also signed: "Harvey B Sindle" for Roncom Productions, Inc. Initialed: "AP" and "HBS" three times in riders. André Previn (1929-2019) has made over 400 recordings as a conductor and pianist in virtually every field of composition, from symphony and concerto to chamber music and song. He has also served as a musical director and principal conductor for a number of prestigious orchestras, including the principal conductor of the Houston Symphony (1967-1970), the London Symphony (1968-1970), the Pittsburgh Symphony (1976-1984) and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (beginning in 1987) and the music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic (1985-1989) and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (1985-1986). As a film composer and arranger, he has won four Academy Awards, for Gigi, Porgy and Bess, Irma La Douce, and My Fair Lady. Lightly creased and soiled. Staple holes at upper left corners, 2 red ink stamps on first page (not at signatures). Overall, fine condition.
