page, 4½x7. June 18, 1958. Duke of York's Theatre, London, United Kingdom. In
full: "Dear Mr. Fauls, IT's a delicate compliement to wish to include me
in what I am sure is a very distinguished collection of actors. But I have not
photographs. So I hope that this letter with the signature below will not
disappoint you too much. Yours sincerely". Actor Andrew Cruickshank
(1907-1988) began his career on stage performing in the Othello
(1930) and Victoria Regina (1935) in London's West End and
continuing on to Broadway in plays such as Richard of Bordeaux
(1934) and Saint Joan (1951). He appeared frequently in
films like Auld Lang Syne (1937), The Secret Tent
(1956) and The Old Men at the Zoo (1983). However, Cruickshank
is best remembered for his role as Dr. Cameron in the long-running Dr.
Finlay's Casebook (1962-1971). Normal mailing folds. Light surface
creases. Slightly toned in margins. Small punctures in top margin. Lightly
stained throughout. Pencil notes on verso in unknown hand. Otherwise, fine
condition.
