ANDREW McLAGLEN
Color 9¾x8 lobby card for the 1971 western One More Train to Rob, signed "Good Luck!" by director Andrew McLaglen
Inscribed lobby card signed "To/Jim/Good luck!/Andrew McLaglen". Blue ink and lead pencil notations on verso, both in unknown hand. Color, 9¾x8 overall, 9¾x7½ image, printed on cardstock. Lobby card for One More Train to Rob (1971). Property of National Screen Service Corporation. ©1970 Universal Pictures. McLaglen directed the western One More Train to Rob. British-American director McLaglen, born in 1920, put together a solid resume of action films (The Devil's Brigade, 1968; The Wild Geese, 1978; ffolkes, 1980) and westerns (Bandolero!, 1968; The Last Hard Men, 1978) between 1954 and 1989. He's especially well-known for his work with John Wayne (McClintock!, 1963; Hellfighters, 1968; The Undefeated, 1969; Chisum, 1970; Cahill: United States Marshall, 1973) and Jimmy Stewart (Shenandoah, 1965; Fool's Parade, 1971) as well as numerous episodes of Gunsmoke (1956-1965), Have Gun, Will Travel (1957-1963), Perry Mason (1958-1960) and The Lieutenant (1963-1964). But he's also had misses. McLaglen helmed the slob vs. snobs police procedural Mitchell (1975), which was viciously taken apart on Mystery Science Theatre 3000. Lightly toned and creased. Top, left and right edges are lightly scuffed and chipped. Rounded and worn edges. Light scratches on image (not visible head-on). Otherwise in fine condition.
