Inscribed on the image of his broad brimmed Western hat
Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Allan!/Andrew Prine". B/w, 8x10. Andrew Prine (b. 1936) has been comfortable in both high quality plays and films, like the Pulitzer Prize-winning Look Homeward Angel and the Oscar-winning The Miracle Worker and in exploitation films (The Centerfold Girls). Many of his films have been Westerns, like Chisum (1970, made with friend John Wayne) and other action films (The Devil's Brigade, 1974). He was seen frequently on TV Westerns when that genre was at its peak, and is still going strong in the new millennium (CSI, Boston Legal). It's hard to name a popular series, from Dallas to Star Trek, in which he didn't appear. Prine played ill-fated Confederate General Richard Garnett in Gettysburg (1993). Fine condition.
