On her personal imprinted stationery, to Peter McGrath, in full: "Thank you so much for your charming & generous gift of the Wee Waterford Clock! I wish it were possible for me to comply with your request to meet in Dublin. But, I fear it is not this trip; every minute is taken. However, I'm sending a new photo, signed and inscribed to you [not included]. Again, my sincere thanks, Yours-". Angela Lansbury (born 1925), won the 1966 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical, her first, for her portrayal of the title character in Mame. The play opened on May 24, 1966 at the Winter Garden Theatre and ran for 1508 performances. She later won Tony Awards for Dear World (1969), Gypsy (1975) and Sweeney Todd (1979). Murder, She Wrote (1984-1996), which starred Lansbury as a best-selling novelist-turned-amateur sleuth, debuted Sept. 30, 1984 and was the highest-rated drama series on TV for a record nine straight seasons (1985-1994). She reprised her role as Jessica Fletcher in a number of subsequent made-for-TV movies. Slightly creased. Paperclip impression at top edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
