The actress writes to John Willis, Editor of Theatre World, thanking him for including her in his publication
Typed letter signed: "Ann M Dawson", in blue ink, 1 page, 6¼x7. May 8, 1980. New York City, New York. In full: "Dear Mr. Willis: Thank you for wanting to include my data to the biographical section of your magazine. Enclosed is the information you requested [items not included]. Our production of ANNIE GET YOUR GUN at Equity Library Theatre has been wonderfully received. Regards. Sincerely". Actress Ann-Maxine Dawson has appeared in an episode of Ryan's Hope (1981) and the film Agent on Ice (1986). John A. Willis (1916-2010), active in Theatre World from the beginning, became its chief editor in 1965, holding that position until 2008. Willis is regarded as one of the foremost theatre and film historians of the 20th century. While producing (and presenting) the annual Theatre World Awards, Willis also served on the nominating committee for the Tony Awards. Theatre World, which received its own Tony for Excellence in Theatre in 2001, continues under chief editor Ben Hodges. Bottom left corner creased. Lightly toned. Light surface creases. Otherwise, fine condition.
