ANN RUTHERFORD
Ann Rutherford signs an index card that has been attached to a copy
of the final revised script of Gone With the Wind.
Signature: "Ann Rutherford", 5x3 index card attached to 256p,
8½x11, separate sheets. Complete copy of the final draft of the script to
Gone With the Wind. At MGM from 1937, Ann Rutherford, born in
1920, gained minor stardom as Polly Benedict in the studio's Andy
Hardy series. She was allowed to display her perky comic gifts in a trio
of 1940s mystery-comedies co-starring Red Skelton (Whistling in the Dark,
Whistling in Dixie, Whistling in Brooklyn), and was quite
appealing as Carreen O'Hara in Gone With the Wind. She closed out her
film career in 1950 to devote more time to her private life; thereafter limiting
her activity to her annual appearance as Suzanne Pleshette's mother on TV's
The Bob Newhart Show. Script has usual copy marks. Three brad fasteners
at left margin. Fine condition.
