Sousa/Anna Moffo". B/w, 4x5¾. Italian postcard, not filled in or stamped on

(1932-2006) made her debut with the Metropolitan Opera in 1959 as
Violetta in La Traviata, a role she would sing over 900 times both on the
stage and on an album. Moffo, who was a popular performer at the Met well
into the 1960s, had made her stage debut in 1955 in Don Pasquale in
Spoleto. Her star quality led to roles on television and in films as well as on
the stage. Moffo, who is credited with popularizing opera with her
Italian TV program, The Anna Moffo Show, also appeared as a guest star on
TV programs from The Bell Telephone Hour (1962) to The Dean Martin
Show (1974). She also recorded a number of albums, including La
Boheme, La Rondine and Madama Butterfly (produced by her first
husband, RCA Victor producer Mario Lanfranchi), in additon to La
Traviata. A later recording, Thaïs, was produced by Moffa's second
husband, NBC President and RCA executive Robert W. Sarnoff, who was the son
of television pioneer David Sarnoff. Ink lightly beaded. Slightly creased at
corners. Minor surface striations (not evident head on). Fine
