French actress Annabella (1909-1996), born Suzanne Georgette Charpentier,
was tapped at age 16 to star in Napoléon (1927). She was a
star of French movies in the 1930s before coming to Hollywood in 1938.
The following year, Annabella married her third husband (1939-1948), Tyrone
Power; her second husband (1931-1938) was actor Jean Murat.
Anabella's film credits include Dinner at the Ritz (1937), The
Baroness and the Butler (1938), Suez (1938), Bridal Suite
(1939) and Don Juan (1950). Annabella starred in two Broadway plays, an
adaptation of Sartre's No Exit (1946), and before that her Broadway
debut in Jacobowsky and the Colonel, which ran for 417 performances in
1944. Saul Goodman (1919-2003), a New York business man by day, pursued his
love of film and theatre in the evening, making friends with many celebrities.
While other autograph seekers offered album leaves, Goodman presented stars
with snazzy photographs, a rarity then, to sign in fountain pen. Corners
worn and creased. Lightly toned around edges. Surface creases (not seen head
on). Otherwise, Fine condition.
