Autograph Letter signed: "Anne Armstrong", 1p, 7¼x10½. As Co-Chairman of the Reagan & Bush Committee, 1980. On Committee letterhead. Arlington, Virginia, no date (but accompanying envelope is postmarked Arlington, Va., October 28, 1980). To Reverend and Mrs. F. W. Britton, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Written one week before the Reagan-Bush team won the Presidential election. In full: "I will always remember our meeting, and wish you much happiness on this day and henceforth. Best regards." Accompanied by typed letter with Reagan/Bush logo. A prominent Texas Republican, Anne Armstrong (1927-2008) served as the first woman appointed Counselor to the President (with Cabinet rank) by Presidents Nixon and Ford (1973-1974). She was Ambassador to Great Britain (1976-1977), and chaired the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board (1981-1990). She also served on many corporate boards, including American Express, Boise Cascade, Halliburton and General Motors. President Reagan awarded her the Presidential Medal of Freedom (1987). Horizontal fold crosses signature. Fine condition.
